this week on TBAG:
when saving some miners in… somewhere in south america:
gordon finds a.. central american pyramid, or a door but they keep on calling it that.
professor harold, voiced by the original voice of alan, for no correlative reason, shows up months later and accidentally traps penny, parker and gordon in the “pyramid”
and then abandons them for no adequately explained reason.
they try to play it off as greed but.. WHY? if he were to call up IR then they’d have more people working on getting the treasure.
parker sets off some doors and traps, scott (who’s only contribution is trying to punch prof harold) and virgil show up anyway to send in a robot snake drill to lead them out.
which then leads them into the treasure chamber, for no adequately explained reason.
it then crumbles into the floor for no adequately explained reason
gordon then tries to hit on penny, for no adequately explained reason
but fortunately for the young children who couldn’t possibly appreciate relationships, thunderbird 2 comes along and lifts the ceiling off,
a ceiling bigger than that rock that it had trouble getting to the stream earlier
harold is sacked, the day is saved and parker forgets his keys.
these “end on a joke” endings kinda suck by the way.
i missed something out last week by the way, Max can now poop out coffee… for no adequately explained reason.
this episode isn’t exactly bad, just mediocre and with no real point to it, they could have gone for a point in developing a relationship between gordon and penny, but apparently not.
it also makes very little sense.
another thought: wikipedia lists both the episode order and the production order. i wonder if watching the show in production order makes more sense, seeing as the last one (slingshot) was made before space race and as such having it before it makes more sense that alan is less confident/more “Whoa”-ey in the later episode.
