some minutes of silence (or not): why do we still do this again?

today because of that terrorist attack in Tunisia…

these blast points are too acurate for turrists; only imperial stormtroopers could be so precise

these blast points are too accurate for turrists; only imperial stormtroopers could be so precise

…yeah, that one. and no, it is never too soon on this site.

anyway because of that someone decided that there was going to be a minute silence at midday in schools, right in the middle of a lesson as opposed to at some time which doesn’t disrupt my damn education.

but apart from that why do we still do these minute silence things? sure it’s sad that some guys have died (it’s even sadder that everyone in tunisia who relys on the tourist trade will now have to go hungry) but sitting around in either contemplation of that, contempt of whoever decided to issue it or perhaps mentally dividing polynomials is not going to help that.

clearly being “respectfully silent” about people dying instead of respectfully discussing ways to prevent death in the future will solve nothing.

what will solve it is… i guess having a non-lethal anti-terrorism X prize? yeah that sounds like it would work.

if you have any ideas for non-lethally dealing with terrorism then be sure to tell somebody about it.
