TEXTURES!
So this is a Generic Metal texture i threw together in GIMP, with certain tinted sections for tinted bits of the rocket.
Here i’ve overlayed UV shells planar projected from the front of the model onto their corresponding colour zone, there’s also the UVs of the ball i inserted into the porthole to give it a window but that doesn’t draw from this material so ignore it. because i didn’t unwrap UVs the textures don’t have seams and because they’re generic mental surface it doesn’t matter as much that they’re stretched in places if i frame it right. i ended up not using the light texture there in the bottom because i didn’t like how it came off.
This is the scene i built around the rocket, i’m pretty sure that was what i’m supposed to do. this was inspired by the Cheyenne Mountain gateroom from stargate with launch clamps to ape Kerbal Space Program.
Here it is atm. i can’t wait to see what this will look like fully textured and with softer lighting.
